Through the photography of António Matos, Francisco Mendes, Frederico Carvalhal e Miguel Duarte, the abandoned city is explored. 11.977 days after the dreaded accident of reactor 4 of the nuclear central of Chernobyl on April 26th, 1986.

Pripyat becomes the stage for a visual reflection about abandonment and revival, despair and hope, where the passage of time is, simultaneously, the main character and narrator.

In 2019 we organized a trip to Pripyat in the Ukraine. Visiting the abandoned city in the wake of the Chernobyl nuclear accident had been on the bucket list for a long time. In February we landed in snow covered Kiev. The next day we were face to face with the sarcophagus that covers what is left of reactor 4. It had been 11,977 days since the accident.

In 2020, the publication that puts the passage of time as the main character was presented to the world.
